Standing tall and proud
Even with broken branches
From times of trouble
That we all find at times

With a trunk thick and strong
Gnarled and weathered
From years of life
Enduring and succeeding

Roots as deep as life itself
Spreading close to the surface
Yet dipping deep into the ground
Holding firm and nourishing

Like our love it stands
With hurts and pains
Committed and enduring
Nourishing us as one
