Your star high in the sky twinkles with happy lights
Always blinking and showing its place with pride
Its beauty beckons in the night, your wishes it invites
From when you were a child and now a happy bride
With time you have your fondest wish come true
She looks and acts just like you, with some of him too
Your every move she watches and learns
To be exactly like you is her wish and so she yearns
A pride and a joy ever and always to you both
To guide and to protect even if your beguiled
Is there a way to slow her growth
And keep her near to us, our precious love's child
