Locked away in a burning fire of desire
Simmering slowly and always about to flame
Never to kindle into a hot, flashing pyre
Passions flames dance and sing in a choir

Reflection inward in all honesty
Paints a picture of life's dreams
But does not give a hint of amnesty
So the fire burns on and on it seems

The song from the choir is simple solace
And eases the feeling of the unattained
For memories recalled soon take its place
Passions cooled when tears have rained
