The night is so very quiet and still
Sleep is ever eluding and I am still awake
I listen to your breathing, suddenly a thrill
Stirring in an old familiar ache

Turning to you while you peacefully sleep
I move closer to feel your breath so warm
Caressing my cheek so softly that I might weep
My feelings become a building storm

Your hair spills across the pillow
As you turn closer to me so gently
The feelings I have begin to billow
With tenderness I move to you intently

Laying upon your hair so angel soft
Brushing your lips gently with mine
I drink in your aromas that slowly waft
Deep into my soul like loves fine wine
