Thistledown aka Don - September 2, 2010

All praise and thanks to you Heavenly Father for your grace in guiding the surgeons in replacing the kidney of Spirit aka Vicky.  She is home and recuperating and tells us:

"This will be short for now as sitting for long periods of time at this time is hard as the belly is swollen and sore but healing.  It may be another week before everything is healed. But I am doing well it is now up to me to take care of my new kidney and do what they tell me to do, so I must abide by that,  I am doing a little walking and sitting and bed rest, NO lifting, or too much riding and NO driving and NO cat litters.   I have no immune system at this point so there is so much medicine that I have to take but new foods that I can eat yipppppppppeeeeeeeee.  My doctors said I got a really good kidney and it is working very well, so I must take care of it but I should be back with you all very soon, I miss all of you. I'm sorry I didn't have time to give you all notice, as I didn't have much notice.  It was one of those calls that said come to the hospital now we have an organ coming in.  So I had already had an email written up and told Jim's grand daughter when the time came she was to send it out to everyone, because I knew I wouldn't have the time to do so. Keep me in your prayers as this heals. It hurts when I sneeze and cough, but everything looks and is working good so far.  God willing it will continue. I even have pink cheeks again, haven't had those in two years, wow. My sister came up and was with Jim in the hospital with me.  Jessie took care of the house and the cats very well.  She did good. Love to all, thank you for all your prayers over the past two years."

Thistledown aka Don - August 27, 2010

Heavenly Father we ask that you hold Spirit aka Vicky in your loving hands as the doctors perform the transplant that she urgently needs.  Spirit tells us:

"Just in case this happens, I had this email prepared for the grand daughter to send out so that all she had to do was send it to let you all know that if I drop off the face of the earth I was in the hospital having my transplant so you all don't worry about me. I should be home in about a week maybe, if you want you can call my husband, Jim and get an update on me. I am in Buffalo General Hospital. Keep me in your prayers. Hugs, Spirit."

Guide the hands and thoughts of the surgeons so they might employ all the knowledge and skills that You have bestowed upon them.  Let the transplant heal Spirit and bring her back to her friends in the Castle.

Thistledown aka Don - July 21, 2010

Heavenly Father we ask that you extend your loving grace and comfort to the family of Kalley Kennedy who passed away yesterday.  He was a friend to all, an elderly gentleman that attended St Marks on a regular basis even though he had to use a walker to join in the Sunday services.  He always had a smile and a hand shake for everyone.  Please be especially attentive to Rosemary his wife of many years.  She will miss her companion a great deal.

Jade aka Edwina - July 6, 2010

Heavenly Father we ask that you extend your loving grace to aid and comfort Edwina's friend who is suffering from Hep C along with her good friend.  Jade tells us:

"I would like to ask my friends to say prayers for a relatively new friend of mine. She has Hep C, end stage, and has a friend who is at end stage as well. She just got the news that he has one week to live, and she is naturally very upset. I have told her that I have some very good friends who I can count on to say prayers to help him and his family, and also for her. She is so distraught and now that she knows his end is near, she wonders how long she has."

May Your grace ease the pain and concern of those who are suffering and reassure those who are concerned for their comfort.  If your plan is for their return to Your sanctuary in heaven we ask that they find peace in Your presence.  Should they have further work to do here among us know that we are ready to join with them when they are returned to health.

July 20, 2010

Heavenly Father we thank you for your grace and easing the pain of illness for your servant and granting him peace in your presence.  Jade tells us today, July 20, 2010:

"Good Morning: It is with a heavy heart that my friend came and gave me the news yesterday that her friend passed away on Saturday at 3.30.p.m. He is now at peace. She wants to thank everyone for their prayers, because she really believes that his crossing over was made a lot easier for him and his family."
