Chocolate Truffles

What You Need.

 

       

 

400 gramme (14 ounces) chocolate

250 gramme (7 ounces) powdered sugar

2 yolks ( yellow of an egg)

Powdered cocoa

250 gramme  (7 ounces) butter or margarin

1 large pan with water

1 wooden spoon

1 skillet. 

 

                                         

                                                           

 

CAUTION

Get an adult to come and help you with this recipe because you will be working with very hot ingredients.  When sugar melts it is very dangerous if you are not careful.  DO NOT touch the melted ingredients with your fingers or hands because it will burn you.  Also DO NOT try to lift of move the pan of hot water alone.  If it spills and splashes on you it will also burn you.

INSTRUCTIONS

Step 1.  Place the skillet inside the large pan with hot water.

Step 2.  Place the butter, chocolate and powdered sugar inside the skillet.

Step 3.  When the butter, chocolate and powdered sugar starts to melt stir constantly.

Step 4.  Stir the two yolks and slowly add to the mixture.   Stir constantly.

Step 5.  When the ingredients are fully mixed remove the skillet from the pan of water and let it cool.  Be very careful not to spill the melts ingredients.  It is very hot and will burn you.

Step 6.  Place the cooled mixture in the refrigerator and let it stiffen.

Step 7.  When the mixture has stiffened sufficiently take it out of the skillet and roll into small balls.

Step 8.  Roll the balls in the cocoa powder and coat them lightly.
