Star Filled Sky Lamp

Make your own night lamp with stars like you see in the picture above.

There are five basic steps.

Step #1: Print this page in color and cut out the sky scene.

Step #2: Using an ice-pick or large darning needle, punch holes in the scene to make small holes for light to shine through. You don't have to keep them in line, and you sky will look better if your just scatter the holes all over.

Step #3: Use a small shoe box or empty cereal box and cut out one side of the box if you need to so that you can cover it with the sky scene. On the side that will be the bottom of the box cut a hole so you can put a light inside later in step #5.

Step #4: Use scotch tape and tape the sky scene over the open side of the box. Tape only at the top so the scene will hang down like a flap.

Step #5: Put one small lamp inside the box. If you can use a small night light. You do not want to use a large bulb because it could be to hot. All you want is to have the light shine through very weakly late at night when you room is dark.

You now have your very own star filed night sky in your room.
